Frequently Asked Questions

Therapy can feel like a big step, especially if it’s new or unfamiliar. This page answers common questions about what therapy looks like at Honestly Speaking Solutions and how I create a space for healing that is intentional, grounded, and deeply personal.

A big step...

Therapy can feel like a big step, especially if it isn’t something you grew up seeing or talking about.

I created this space to answer the questions that often go unspoken — the ones many of us have when we’re exploring therapy for the first time. Think of this as an honest conversation — a chance to learn, ask questions, and see how therapy can feel when it’s grounded in care, culture, and authenticity.

FAQs

Therapy is simply a real conversation. A space where you can exhale and feel seen. There is no judgment, no lectures, and no labels. You set the pace, and we build trust as we go. Each conversation is a chance to explore what has been heavy, what has been holding you back, and what it looks like to finally feel at peace.

Not at all. Wanting to take care of your mental and emotional health does not make you crazy. It makes you self-aware and courageous. For a long time, therapy was not something many of us saw modeled in our families or communities, so it can feel unfamiliar or even uncomfortable at first. But choosing therapy does not mean something is wrong with you — it means you are ready to invest in your peace, your growth, and yourself.

Therapy is for anyone who is ready to understand themselves on a deeper level. You do not have to be in crisis to want peace. Maybe you are feeling stuck, burned out, disconnected, or unsure of what is next. Therapy gives you the space to slow down, reflect, and find clarity in your thoughts and emotions. It is about creating a version of your life that feels more aligned, intentional, and fulfilling.

Faith and therapy can work together. Prayer connects you to your spirituality, while therapy helps you understand and care for your emotional world. Many of my clients do both — they draw strength from their faith while using therapy as a space to process, heal, and grow. Therapy is not meant to replace your faith; it complements it. It offers practical tools and insight to support the spiritual and emotional work you are already doing.

Each session is a space designed for honesty, reflection, and growth. Together we will explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences in a way that feels supportive and grounded. You can expect real conversations, practical insight, and gentle challenges that help you move closer to the peace and balance you deserve. Over time, you will begin to notice shifts in how you think, feel, and show up in your life.

Most clients begin with weekly sessions to build trust, consistency, and momentum. Over time, as you start to feel more grounded and confident, we may shift to bi-weekly or monthly sessions based on your needs and goals. Therapy is not one-size-fits-all. We will move at a pace that supports your growth and honors where you are in your process.

Therapy is not meant to last forever. It is designed to help you reach a place where you feel more grounded, confident, and equipped to navigate life on your own. When that time comes, we will talk about what closure looks like for you and celebrate the growth you have made. Some clients choose to continue with maintenance sessions or periodic check-ins during major life transitions. The door is always open if you decide to return for additional support in the future.

Yes. What you share in therapy stays private. Confidentiality creates a space where you can speak freely and honestly without fear or judgment. There are only a few situations where I am legally required to break confidentiality to ensure safety, and I will always explain those clearly before we begin. My goal is for you to feel safe, respected, and supportedin sharing your truth.

Yes. I provide secure, HIPAA-compliant virtual therapy for clients located in California and Texas. Virtual sessions offer the same depth, connection, and level of care as in-person therapy while giving you the flexibility to show up from the comfort of your own space. Many of my clients appreciate the ease of creating a consistent routine without the added stress of commuting.

Booking a session is simple. You can schedule directly through my Online Scheduling Button below. Once your appointment is confirmed, you will receive everything you need to prepare for your first session, including secure access to the client portal and intake forms.

If you are interested in working together, the first step is to schedule a complimentary 20-minute consultation. This gives us an opportunity to connect, talk about what you are looking for, and ensure that we are the right fit before beginning therapy. I value working intentionally with each client, and this step helps create a strong foundation for our work together.

Still have questions? I would love to connect.
